RE at St Augustine's in 2023
School have now received the new RED (Religious Education Directorate). We will be working as a staff to implement it, so that we are fully compliant by 2026.
RE is the at the heart of our Curriculum and it is given the priority that it deserves. We aim to deliver a high quality education which allows all children to know and understand the Word of God, engage and respond to these stories in a meaningful way, and to discerrn how what they have learned will impact their choices and actions as they go forward, growing in love with God and in unity with our school and parish community.
We value the abilities and achievements of all of our children and we are committed to providing for the best possible learning environment for each pupil, thus enabling them to reach their full potential. We believe that all children should be equally valued in school. We will strive to eliminate prejudice and discrimination, and to develop an environment where all children can flourish and feel safe.
Celebration of the word
Celebration of the word is at the heart of all that we do on a daily basis and it is through this that we meet Jesus and grow closer to Him, allowing his love to enter our hearts. We share the Bible as a living book through which God speaks to us. Children enjoy taking responsibility for preparing, and in KS2, leading, our prayer time together once a week.
